Music Decision

For the past week, I have been deciding on a credits song . . . Phil is doing the score for the movie, but I might have an upbeat rock song written for the credits/outtakes by the songwriter/programmer/singer of Drop Dead Genius, who I have only recently contacted because I wasn't sure if it would work. At first I was thinking about having the whole score, including credits, match as one unified sound. (I can work with Phil much easier because he is here in Orlando, but DDG is in LA and distance makes collaborating hard.) But after thinking about it more... A song for the credits is something that would work perfectly, and doesn't need as much follow through as the score. So, we will see what happens in the coming days.

About the outtakes... I have a lot of funny outtakes, so I think I will use them in between the credits. I'll edit it that way tonight and see if it works. I think if I were to have bloopers (that word is so strange) in any film, it would be this one. Because I don't want the credits to feel pretentious. Meaning, I don't want it to be a stupid/funny movie with a long list of serious credits. So, instead, the outtakes and music can play a role in keeping audience entertained.

Sparkles!

The fairy dust is coming along nicely. It is going to be animated as a trail following the fairy's movement. That same trail might be used for the title sequence. Doing that will quicken the title making process and also unify the visuals.

Editing, and Scoring, and FX, oh my!

So, more headway has been made in the special effects for the movie. So far there are 3 animators involved in helping to create fairy pixie dust, a video game sequence, and more efffects.(Including Chris Pagoria, Dave J, and one more possible) The music is in the works right now thanks to Phil Chernyak. And the editing is coming along quite nicely thanks to my lack of sleep and Idris' help! Thank you post people! Post-people? What's next after people? Thinking deeply mid-thought while blogging equals blogs not worth reading!.... i mean... Amazing Blogtasticness! ok the lack of sleep is starting to show. More later!

i see stars

This is something I designed around Cimcie, the fairy in the movie. This can stand as another visual inspiration as to the feeling of the finished movie. I like the upbeat, happiness of it all. No, not "shiny happy people holding hands".... you get the idea!

Awesomely Amazing Brand New Post!

It is spring break. But I am not breaking! I will go on and march forward with all things GREEN! Yes, the movie continues through post-production with so far 2 animators, 2 editors, and 1 sound designer.
First step: finish rough cut.
Second step: Animators add special fx, sound designer creates soundscape.
third step: final cut.

I am in between the 1st and 2nd step. But I have no time to talk.
The cutting calls!

FAIRYlicious

Fairy down... Worn out from choosing fairy costumes, Cimcie goes splat.

Jonathan Grady is a little too excited about the fairy wings. My Mom reads over the script... actually she's making sure Grady doesn't hurt himself. By the way, a BIG thank you to my Mom for helping me with the story of Green. She is a playwrite and I'm so happy she's helping with the script. And also craft service, costuming, equipment hauling, and awesome overall help. Thank you!

Okay, now the wings get serious.

After all that hard work on the fairy costume, Disney was mandatory. Oh, and actually it was there where we found the tiara Cimcie wore. Thanks tinkerbell!

My Mom fixes Cimcie's makeup. Thank you to Jayde, who did the fairy hair and makeup. It was perfect!

My Mom and Marisa make the wings fly with fishing wire.

Cimcie gets "frumpy". Frumpy face! yay!

Final Shooting Day

Here's a still from the underwater scene.

Derek was a great help on the set and very creative with lighting! Thanks!

During a break I guess Sean felt like playing "dress-up" with a few socks.... Jayde and Danny give moral support.

Marisa and her mom on set. Marisa is/was the best producer I could've asked for. Thank you for being on top of things and being great in every way!
